The remarkably fast 200mm (8") f/4 parabolic primary mirror of the R200SS Newtonian reflector gives extremely sharp images with no chromatic aberration. The use of state-of-the-art coating technology yields the ideal surface for its f/4 primary mirror. The telescope's large aperture and compact body make it ideally suited for astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters and comets. The use of the optional coma corrector allows for a sharp coma-free image from edge to edge, and the rack and pinion focusing mount, with an adapter, accepts 2 eyepieces. Vixen's GP2 MOunt is easy to use and functions well for both the visual observer and astrophotography. The declination and right-ascension functions with 144-tooth aluminum worm gears allowing accurate tracking. Motion is controlled by included control knobs for accurate slewing. The polar altitude adjustment varies from 0° to 62° in altitude. Optional single axis or dual axis motors and controllers are available as is a polar alignment telescope and setting circles. Add the new Vixen Starbook S with built in starchart for full Go-To capabilities.
